Thrive Freeze Dry Sets Up One of the Largest Freeze Drying Facilities in North America to Further Enhance Capabilities
Thrive Foods (“Thrive”), a leading manufacturer of freeze-dried products, and a portfolio company of Entrepreneurial Equity Partners and Mubadala Capital, announced today its new plant in Oak Creek, Wisconsin. The 341,000 square foot building is designed to support the fast-growing markets of pet treats and probiotics and will be one of the largest of its kind in North America. This state-of-the-art facility will feature best-in-class freeze dryers providing additional capacity and capability, packaging, and warehousing. It is anticipated that the facility will freeze-dry its first production run in the summer of 2023.
With the addition of this advanced facility in Oak Creek, along with the acquisition of Freeze Dry Foods in Albion, New York, announced on August 22, 2022, Thrive Foods has increased its commitment to serving its customers from coast to coast and to becoming the global leader in freeze drying. These two additions allow Thrive Foods to add wet processing capabilities to its existing world-class freeze-drying operations.
Thrive Foods is a leading manufacturer of freeze-dried products, including fruits & vegetables, proteins, pet treats, probiotics, enzymes, and prepared meals. Thrive currently has facilities in Modesto, California, American Fork, Utah, and in Albion, New York. Thrive Foods serves as a technical expert and flexible manufacturing partner for its customers and is excited to extend its footprint into Wisconsin. It is expected that this plant will employ 250+ people in the greater Milwaukee area.
“We are excited to enhance our processing capabilities and geographic presence with this new facility. This was a targeted location from early on and will allow us to continue providing customers with the highest quality freeze-dried products that they’ve come to expect from Thrive,” said Steve Palmer, Chief Executive Officer of Thrive Foods. “This modern facility provides us even more capacity and expanded service capabilities to further meet the market’s growing need for high-quality pet treats and probiotics. We look forward to continuing to drive growth in the Midwest and beyond.”
